Tim Cahill established himself as a Premier League cult hero in the 2000s following his performances with Everton, and the Australian legend has been in reminiscent mood on social media this week.
Cahill, now with A-League side Melbourne City, posted a throwback photo to his days with Everton alongside the likes of Tim Howard, Marouane Fellaini, Jack Rodwell and Steven Pienaar – all of whom have left Goodison Park.

Whilst Everton have struggled to remain competitive in recent years, the Toffees are flying-high under Ronald Koeman this term and a new breed of stars have taken centre-stage, with Romelu Lukaku, Yannick Bolasie, Ross Barkley and Ashley Williams impressing.
Sat sixth in the Premier League standings, just four points off the top four, Everton are in a good position to seal a return to the Europa League next year but are currently on a run of just one win in their last five league outings.
Things don’t get any easier with a trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend to face Chelsea, before a run of games against Swansea City, Southampton and Manchester United after the international break.
