Phil Jagielka will leave Everton when his contract with the Toffees expires at the end of the month.

The centre-back joined Everton from Sheffield United in 2007 and has gone on to make 385 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Jagielka has been captain of the Merseyside giants since 2013 but he struggled for football during the 2018-19 campaign - making just seven Premier League appearances for Marco Silva's side.

To be honest, the 36-year-old's departure at this stage has not come as a surprise.

The defender has given so much to Everton over the last 12 years and therefore he fully deserved the kind words that greeted him on social media.
