Barcelona eyeing shock move for Everton defender (not Stones)

Barcelona are keen on Everton centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The Argentine defender only joined the Toffees over the summer in a £9m switch from River Plate and has made a solid start to life in the Premier League.

And despite Everton’s shaky showings at the back, reports claim that Barcelona have been impressed by Funes Mori.

It’s understood that the Spaniards have been monitoring Gerard Deulofeu since selling him to the club last year and that their regular scouting trips have alerted them to his defensive team-mate.

John Stones has also been linked with the La Liga giants, however, it’s understood that the Nou Camp side are concerned about his swelling valuation, making Funes Mori a more viable option.

The South American defender’s playing style seems suited to Barca’s approach to the game, with his quality on the ball and passing ability two of his strongest assets.
