Everton’s chances of landing Andre Gomes have received a big boost, as reports in Spain claim Barcelona are willing to negotiate a sale.
According to Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, Everton do want to make Gomes’ loan move into a permanent one at the end of this season.
The report goes one further as well, saying the Catalan club would be happy to let the midfielder leave.
The Sport Witness report says “it is clear” that the Euro 2016 champion’s time with Barcelona is up and that the player himself is very happy at Goodison Park.

It goes without saying that this is a huge boost for Everton, as Gomes has been one of their best players throughout the campaign.
The Toffees have hit a torrid run of form, losing five of their last six in all competitions and exiting both cup competitions, so director of football Marcel Brands may already be plotting for next season.
If that is the case, it makes sense for his first move to be to sign Gomes, as the midfield maestro is already hugely popular at Goodison, both for his performances on the pitch and his behaviour off it.
If Everton really want to reach new heights under Brands’ leadership, securing a top quality player like Gomes is an absolute must, and fans will love the transfer guru if he can pull this one off.
