Tim Cahill and Steven Pienaar both had memorable spells at Everton, but only one of them is still playing professional football.Cahill had eight years of his career on Merseyside, eventually leaving in 2012 to join New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer.The pair played together between 2007 and 2011, and Pienaar had a second spell at the club after just one season at Tottenham Hotspur.The former South Africa international eventually called time on his association with Everton in 2016.From that point on, Pienaar had spells at Sunderland and South African club Bidvest Wits, but has now decided to end his professional playing career at the age of 35.The winger made the announcement this week and has received many well-wishes from fans and ex-teammates.Cahill was one of the players to congratulate Pienaar on his career, and he used Twitter to send the message.

At the age of 38, Cahill remains in the professional game and returned to Millwall in the January transfer window from Melbourne City.
