The BBC have reported that Chelsea have signed Christina Pulisic for a fee of £58 million, but the 20-year-old will return to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season and Everton should then look to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the summer.
The 23-cap United States international has been in fine form for the Bundesliga outfit this season. Blues fans ought to be excited to see him in action at Stamford Bridge next season, and Maurizio Sarri looks to have pulled off a major coup already this January.
However, for others in the Chelsea squad, Pulisic’s imminent arrival may be less welcome news. Loftus-Cheek is amongst those who may see his game time cut down in light of Pulisic’s presence.

The 22-year-old 10-cap England man has often been deployed in a more advanced role by Sarri this season, but that space in the Chelsea squad could soon be handed to Pulisic.
Loftus-Cheek, for the sake of the regular game time he needs, should accept that an exit from Stamford Bridge may be the wisest move for him at this stage. Everton would be wise to capitalise on this situation by making a move for the 6’3” midfielder.
Loftus-Cheek would likely get the game time under Marco Silva at Goodison Park that he is currently missing out on with the west London club.
The Toffees could also do with the additional physicality and power that Loftus-Cheek would bring to their ranks. Therefore, Loftus-Cheek to Everton is a move that makes sense for all involved.
