Everton announce Allardyce arrival, fans have their say

Everton have announced that Sam Allardyce will become the club’s new manager.

In a somewhat unusual fashion, the Merseyside outfit posted a tweet on their official page claiming that the 63-year-old will finalise the contract today before signing on the dotted line.

Under-23s coach David Unsworth was handed the reins on a temporary basis when Ronald Koeman was sacked over a month ago.

However, the 44-year-old has struggled, overseeing five defeats in seven matches in all competitions.

Allardyce was an early contender for the position, but ruled himself out of contention after claiming that the club did not want him enough.

There has since been a turnaround, though, with the Daily Mail reporting that the experienced manager has signed an 18-month deal worth £6m per year.

Allardyce comes into the fold following a seven-month spell in charge of Crystal Palace, in which he kept the club in the Premier League and later decided to quit at the end of last season to have a break from football.

The coach – commonly known as ‘Big Sam’ – is now back in the game and Everton fans have been tweeting their reaction.
