Everton manager Ronald Koeman has sent out a message to forward Kevin Mirallas, telling him that he needs to see more from him in the coming weeks.

What's the story, then?

Well, Mirallas has made ten Premier League appearances under the Dutchman so far this term, scoring one and assisting one, while only playing 90 minutes on one occasion.

Koeman doesn't believe that is a big enough contribution and has now had a chat with the Belgium international and is expecting to see more goals and assists in the coming weeks and months.

Mirallas said: "I have spoken to the manager and he has told me I have been playing well but he wants more, and I agreed.

"I have looked at my game, looked at situations when I need to dribble more, or pass or shoot more."

Will he get an opportunity this weekend?

Possibly. The Toffees face a tough trip to Stamford Bridge where they will come up against an in-form Chelsea team on Saturday evening, and Mirallas will be hoping he gets the chance to impress his manager by being named in the starting line-up.

The 29-year-old has good form against the Blues too, having scored in the corresponding fixture last season - a thrilling 3-3-draw.
