Everton boss ready for crunch time

David Moyes

Tofees manager David Moyes believes his team faces a crucial stretch in the season and remains confident in his squad succeeding, starting with tonight’s FA Cup clash against Oldham Athletic, Sky Sports reports.

Goodison Park recieves Oldham in the last-sixteen cup re-match after a 2-2 draw in the first game, in hopes of making it to the quarter-finals, where Roberto Martinez’s Wigan await for rival.

Despite practically vanishing any Champions League prospects after weekend defeat against Norwich, the club aspirations to get a place for the Europa League remain intact and Moyes believes many clubs would desire Everton situation at this stage of the season.

“”I’d say, ‘Look at our situation’. How many clubs don’t have anything to play for at this stage of the season? We have, we are still in a really good position”, he argued.

“We are sixth in the table, we have a replay in the FA Cup at home to get into the quarter-finals”.

“”It is a big game for us, for the fans. I think we are in a period of big games, albeit not maybe the top teams, but there is a period of big games coming up”, said the coach, who believes Everton will get a “second wind” to overcome the next critical games.
