David Moyes will run the rule over Phil Jagielka but he is expected to be fit for the Merseyside derby clash at Liverpool on Sunday.
The England defender was carrying an ankle knock and missed the recent defeat to Sunderland but he came back last week against Fulham and is expected to be fine to face the Reds at Anfield.
Ross Barkley is pushing to start but may have to be content with a place on the bench, as will Tony Hibbert who has been out for months following his injury but is now fit and was on the bench last weekend.
Barring any late knocks Moyes is likely to go with the same side that started against Fulham, although Victor Anichebe may get the nod in attack ahead of Nikica Jelavic who continues to struggle in front of goal.
