According to Tuttomercatoweb, Everton boss Marco Silva wants to bring AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci to Goodison Park in this summer's transfer window.

What's the story?

Everton are expected to be busy this summer, but the simple fact of the matter is that the Toffees are yet to secure any new players for the 2018-19 campaign.

Silva is believed to be working hard behind the scenes, but signing quality footballers for affordable prices is not exactly the easiest of tasks.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Everton are considering an approach for 27-year-old midfielder Berolacci, who has just returned to Milan following a year at Genoa.

The five-time Italy international joined Milan from Genoa in 2015, and made 50 appearances for the San Siro giants before returning on loan to Genoa last term.

It is understood that Milan would be prepared to sell Bertolacci for the right price this summer, and Everton may well be the perfect destination for the Italian.

Would Bertolacci be a good signing?

A quick, hardworking and versatile midfielder, Bertolacci is just the type of midfielder that Silva should be looking to bring to the club this summer.

Morgan Schneiderlin is not exactly the most popular of figures with the Everton fans, and the midfielder has been tipped to move on this summer.

Wayne Rooney's departure to the MLS, meanwhile, has left the Toffees light in the middle of the park.

Bertolacci is not going to bring goals or assists, but he is a well-rounded player capable of performing a number of different roles at both ends of the pitch.

The midfielder would also bring an impressive range of passing, and a big-game attitude having turned out for one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Valued at £6.75m by Transfermarkt, it is unlikely that Everton would have to break the bank for Bertolacci, and he could turn out to be a very smart addition this summer.
