Everton consider Dalbert Henrique move

According to, Everton could launch a move for Inter Milan defender Dalbert Henrique in this summer’s transfer window.

What’s the story?

Everton are yet to bring any new players to the club this summer, but it is understood that head coach Marco Silva and new director of football Marcel Brands are working hard on deals.

Wilfried Zaha has been strongly linked with a move to Goodison Park, but left-back is also an area that is in need of strengthening ahead of the new season.

Leighton Baines is still with the Toffees, but the veteran defender continues to be linked with a move to the MLS, and is expected to move on this summer.

According to, no less than six defenders are under consideration for the left-back position, and Inter’s Henrique is on that list.

The 24-year-old only joined Inter from Nice in last summer’s transfer window, and made 13 appearances for the Italian giants during the 2017-18 campaign.

Would Henrique be a good signing?

Henrique was far from a regular at Inter last season – playing just 16 times in all competitions.

The left-back actually only featured once in Serie A between the middle of February and the end of the season, but he did impress when selected.

There is no question that the Brazilian is a talent, and he could develop into an impressive Premier League defender if given the chance.

Everton need players for the here and now, however, and might well be better served going after someone else on their six-man shortlist, which includes Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

That said, the Toffees would have to pay through the roof for the Scotland international this summer, and bringing a new left-back to the club is certainly proving a tough task for Silva and Brands with the 2018-19 campaign just around the corner.
