Everton facing near 50% loss on big money signing

Everton’s January flop Oumar Niasse is nearing a loan move to Galatasaray that may result in the Toffees losing almost 50% of the £13.5m they paid for him, according to reports from Fotospor.

The 26-year-old Senegal international was signed from Lokomotiv Moscow during the winter on the back of a solid goalscoring spell in Russia in which he notched 12 in 28 league matches.

Much was expected of the pacey hit-man, but Niasse failed to make any sort of impact in a dreadful end to the season at Goodison Park, appearing seven times in all competitions – only two of which were starts – and was unable to find the back of the net.

And it appears that he has no future under new boss Ronald Koeman, with reports claiming that a loan deal with Galatasaray that could effectively end his Merseyside career is close.

It’s understood that the Istanbul giants are willing to pay a £1m fee for the coming 2016/17 season with a view to a £6m permanent arrangement next year.

The total of £7m would mark a near 50% hit on the fee paid for Niasse just about six months ago, with Everton standing to lose £6.5m should the deal happen.
