Everton caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson says he hopes Seamus Coleman will be fit for the trip to Manchester United on Sunday, and Toffees fans have made their feelings on the right-back clear.

The 31-year-old has been absent from the starting XI since the match against Norwich City last month, with Djibril Sidibe standing in for him at full-back and impressing.

In fact, the France international has picked up three assists in his previous five Premier League appearances, including one in Ferguson's first match at the helm against Chelsea last weekend.

Ferguson told evertonfc.com: "Seamus has done a little bit of training and is gradually picking up, so he could come into consideration for the weekend."

Supporters of the Merseyside outfit don't seem to want their captain back in action though, given the reactions below.

It isn't too surprising either, given he has been criticised by the Goodison Park faithful for his performances this term.

While Ferguson was talking about Coleman, some of those who replied decided to focus on the man that has performed pretty well - perhaps at Anfield aside - in his absence.

It has certainly taken the 27-year-old a little while to work his way into the starting XI given he didn't play a single minute of the opening seven Premier League fixtures of the campaign, but he now appears to be coming into his own.

On that basis, he certainly doesn't deserve to lose his spot to Coleman anytime soon.
