Everton picked up their first away victory in the English Premier League since December, defeating Stoke City 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium.
In difficult conditions, the Toffees were made to work hard for their win, despite Paul Lambert’s side going down to ten men on the 30-minute mark.
Cenk Tosun gave the away side the lead before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting equalised with 13 minutes remaining. However, Tosun’s second of the afternoon late on was enough for the victory, easing the pressure on manager Sam Allardyce.
While Tosun was undoubtedly the hero of the afternoon, it was another Allardyce signing that caught the eye of many – Theo Walcott.
The former Arsenal has made a decent contribution since joining in January, undoubtedly an upgrade on the existing attacking talents at Goodison Park.
He drove the team to victory in the second half and assisted the winning Tosun effort, his fourth direct goal contribution in eight matches.
Fans are now hoping he can inspire them to a better season next term after a disappointing league campaign.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
I’ll admit to judging Tosun too quickly but I don’t think Walcott’s contribution to the team since coming in can be understated #EFC

Jenk has improved us massively. Walcott has improved us massively. We have gone from 16th to 9th. From a -15 goal difference to +2 under Allardyce. Anyone who cannot see what Sam Allardyce has done for @Everton frankly has soup for brains. 12 months more for me 👍 #stability #efc

Whilst Pickford has kept us out of real trouble (in the main), I really think Walcott is the signing of our season. #EFC

Let's be fair to Allardyce, his recruitment has been better than Koeman's. Walcott arguably our best player and Tosun looks to have come good. Mangala would have been decent if he hadn't got injured. #EFC #Everton

Theo Walcott has been great since he arrived. Just shows, an Arsenal player not seen to be good enough looks a cut above for us. Shows were we need to be. Hopefully, next season we’ll get there.

Imagine if we'd had Walcott and Tosun from August. They should undoubtedly be the starting point of our rebuild. 40 points attained. Start the process now, don't wait til May.
Learn from your mistakes Everton….
