Everton fans can’t decide what to do with Kieran Dowell after the youngster impressed on England duty on Saturday.

If there’s one thing fans love it’s a player rising through the youth ranks and breaking into the first team. Still, Everton fans are unsure about the future of Kieran Dowell.

The attacking midfielder impressed for England’s Under-21 side in the 2-1 win over Romania on Saturday, but his progress with loan club Nottingham Forest has dried up in recent months.

The 20 year-old has nine goals and four assists in 30 Championship starts this season, but only one of those goals has come since Aitor Karanka took over as manager in January.

“I’ll see what happens in the summer,” the youngster told the Nottingham Post.

“Obviously, if I’m in Everton’s plans then I’d love it, but if not I wouldn’t rule it out (returning to Forest).

“It’s been unbelievable. You see loans happen and they don’t quite work, your face doesn’t fit or whatever, so I’ve been delighted it’s been a good move for all parties.”

After such a positive start to life with his loan club, maybe the youngster can be excused for a spell of bad form, but Everton fans are not convinced he has a future at the club.

While some fans are excited to see Dowell in action for the Toffees, others have suggested another loan spell, or even a permanent move.
