As reported by The Mirror, Everton have made Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy their number one target in the summer transfer window.

The England international, who has scored 15 goals for the Foxes this season in all competitions, is said by the paper to be at the top of the Toffees' transfer wishlist after a recruitment meeting at the club last week.

Director of Football at Goodison Park Steve Walsh is said to be the player's biggest admirer at Everton and is willing to hand the player a £150,000-a-week contract to make the switch.

It's not news that has been particularly well received by Everton supporters who feel that the cost involved to bring him to Merseyside and the player's age makes this a deal not worth pursuing.

Set to turn 32 next January, they might have a point, although he has consistently reached double figures for goals in the English Premier League over the past few seasons.

Should Everton make a move for the player?
