Theo Walcott was becoming a key figure for Marco Silva, but his latest Everton display has fans calling for a change.
Against Manchester United on Sunday evening, Walcott featured for 78 minutes but failed to produce when it counted despite taking the team’s second-most shots with two.
Both efforts found the target and the winger completed 85% of his passes, but was hauled off alongside Idrissa Gueye shortly after the Blues pulled one back through Gylfi Sigurdsson with 12 minutes left on the clock.
Prior to the Old Trafford trip, the 29-year-old who joined from Arsenal in January had started in every one of Everton’s 10 Premier League games under Silva, playing the third most minutes on 811, as well as netting the joint-third most goals with two.
Toffees fans, however, were certainly not impressed with the former England international’s performance at the weekend and shared their views on Twitter, with many calling for a change in line up against Brighton on Saturday.
Spot on. Walcott flatters to deceive and he’s not impressed me thus far. Lookman should get a run in the side for me.

Thought Gomes was outstanding yesterday. Walcott needs rotating, so I’d bring Tosun in upfront, along with Lookman on the right, and drop Walcott and Bernard against Brighton. Mina needs to be integrated for Chelsea, maybe not from the start though.

Walcott is on par with Willian with terms of fraud. Willian with 1 goal every 14 games and Walcott with no touch at all

I’m not giving him abuse I’m saying for us to improve he needs replacing…lad from palace would be a great option…tough to get…he’s not the only one…Gana and Walcott are in that group too

The Guardian on Theo Walcott this morning – “At some point, the Peter Pan of English football needs to grow up and start taking responsibility”. Come on Theo, Everton deserve more from you.

Please don’t let Walcott start at the weekend, guy cost us massively yesterday…

Agree totally Walcott should be dropped after that non-display

Agree. Walcott off, Richarlison wide and Cenk up top.
Theo’s so poor this year, looks like he’s playing at 80%. Other players maybe don’t have his composure but they are all working their bits off. Don’t see it from him.
