Everton fans call for Walcott to be dropped after Old Trafford disappearance

Theo Walcott was becoming a key figure for Marco Silva, but his latest Everton display has fans calling for a change.

Against Manchester United on Sunday evening, Walcott featured for 78 minutes but failed to produce when it counted despite taking the team’s second-most shots with two.

Both efforts found the target and the winger completed 85% of his passes, but was hauled off alongside Idrissa Gueye shortly after the Blues pulled one back through Gylfi Sigurdsson with 12 minutes left on the clock.

Prior to the Old Trafford trip, the 29-year-old who joined from Arsenal in January had started in every one of Everton’s 10 Premier League games under Silva, playing the third most minutes on 811, as well as netting the joint-third most goals with two.

Toffees fans, however, were certainly not impressed with the former England international’s performance at the weekend and shared their views on Twitter, with many calling for a change in line up against Brighton on Saturday.
