Everton fans criticise Allardyce for not playing Vlasic

Everton fans are desperate to see more of Nikola Vlasic as Sam Allardyce backs the youngster to “flourish” next season.

Everton fans have had a pretty miserable season and the lack of inspiring attacking play has played a large part in that – with much of the criticism aimed towards Allardyce.

Now fans are crying out for 20 year-old Nikola Vlasic to get a go in the team. Vlasic joined from Hajduk Split in a £10million deal at the end of last summer, but has only been allowed to show his quality in small doses.

The young winger made just eight appearances under Ronald Koeman and has made the same number under Allardyce. He impressed in the Europa League with two goals and one assist in three starts, but has made just five starts in the Premier League.

“It’s been a difficult season for him,” Allardyce said.

“When you talk about Vlasic, it’s another young player and their confidence may suffer so it’s his first season here and next season we would like to see more of those young talents flourish.”

Everton fans have been reacting to Big Sam’s comments on Twitter, and it doesn’t look like the criticism of the manager is going to stop anytime soon…
