Loads of Everton fans have been giving their verdict on the defeat to Arsenal, and they’re absolutely fuming at the performance of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees fell to their second consecutive defeat at the Emirates on Sunday, but it could have been so different for Marco Silva’s men.
Similarly to the draw against Huddersfield, Silva’s side had some really nice moments, but they just lack that killer edge to find the final pass or shot.
The manager’s decision to not sign a recognised goalscorer in the summer is starting to look like a grave error, and fans are crucifying Calvert-Lewin.
The youngster started in place of Cenk Tosun as the Turkish international is also struggling to find the net, and the home side showed the benefit of having top class goalscorers by taking their limited chances.
The 21 year-old completed just 62 per cent of his passes, registered zero shots and spurned a golden opportunity to square the ball for a tap in.
You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, look away now Dominic…
Just got home. What the hell is Calvert-Lewin doing for that early chance? Square it and we score. #EFC

He really does not seem to have the basic instinct of a top striker. He should be loaned out to the best club available. Let him sink or swim there. If he swims, then great for us. Its time that we stopped bringing in kids and do what the top teams do.

He really doesn’t ever look like scoring a goal if he has time to think. Hate to say it but I think he needs to be loaned out or sold.

Absolute joke mate. Running out of excuses for DCL, Davies and Holgate now. Seems the more games they play the worse they get.

He wouldn’t get in or near many other prem sides. The same goes for davies and holgate. If we are to close the gap then these players need to be phased out.

Sadly he’s a Championship standard striker. Works hard and can link play well, but you need to be ruthless in front of goal. He isn’t and I doubt he will be

Tries hard but terrible touch and decision making and hardly any goals.

Calvert-Lewin looks every inch a player destined for a career in the Championship.
