According to Sky Sports News, Besiktas are interested in signing Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen on loan in this summer’s transfer window.
Klaassen only joined Everton from Ajax in a £23.6m deal last summer.
The 16-time Netherlands international struggled to make his mark during the 2017-18 campaign, however, appearing in just seven Premier League matches for the Toffees.
Klaassen recently revealed that he wanted to stay on Merseyside to fight for his position, but Besiktas are reportedly preparing to test Everton’s resolve.
It is understood that the Turkish giants want to sign Klaassen on loan with the view to a permanent transfer in next summer’s window.
The Everton fans have been discussing the future of the 25-year-old, and it would be fair to say that the bulk are struggling to come to an agreement, despite a recent poll revealing that the club’s supporters were in favour of the midfielder staying.
A selection of the Twitter reaction to the transfer rumour can be seen below:
Not permanent? Too bad.

People on here are so deluded. He has gone through 3 managers and not played. He is happy on his 120k a week which he will get nowhere else.

Perhaps a loan deal for Davy could be beneficial for the player. That’s of course if Marco Silva doesn’t intend to play him often. #EFC

We have to be ruthless. 2 for each position end of. There can’t be sentiment. On top of a cull we will want players in that are better than what we have. If no shaving of the squad then we end up like last year with too many in one position and too little in others

Keep him or get rid,

Tell them no deal, we need to give him a run in the team as he is somebody who can bring a bit more quality to the team

No point letting anyone over 20 go on loan. Sale or stay and fight!
