Everton fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Mason Holgate's future at the club, after it was reported by the Liverpool Echo that West Brom were keen on signing the right-back on a permanent deal at the expiry of his loan stint at the Hawthorns.

Holgate made five Premier League appearances for the Toffees at the start of the season due to a number of injuries and a few suspensions, before losing his place in the team once the on-loan Kurt Zouma asserted himself at Goodison Park.

Despite being sent out on loan to the Baggies, the 22-year-old remains well thought of by Marco Silva, hence the decision to offer him a new contract back in December.

Everton have had somewhat of an issue at right-back this season, with Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny sharing the spot in the starting eleven - Kenny has made seven starts, whilst Coleman has 22 under his belt.

Holgate has impressed with three assists in nine appearances for Darren Moore's Baggies since arriving on loan, so he could potentially solve the Toffees' right-back issue.
