Everton fans are desperate to avoid the mistakes of last summer, and they’re hoping their club doesn’t swoop for Ki Sung-yueng.

Everton fans were adamant they did not want Ki Sung-yueng when Sky Sports reported their interest in the South Korean back in April, and they’re standing by their principles after the Swansea man officially became a free agent.

The Toffees ended their season in underwhelming fashion on Sunday with a 3-1 defeat at West Ham, and fans are already upset with the latest transfer links.

The Toffees splashed huge amounts of cash on several players last summer, and only really Jordan Pickford could be considered a successful signing at this point, though the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Nikola Vlasic could yet prove themselves.

Ki is an extremely intelligent player, and similarly to Sigurdsson has scored a fair few goals from outside the box as a Swansea player.

The South Korean international, who has ten goals in 99 caps for his country, officially became available on a free transfer this week after opting not to renew his contract with the Swans.

The 29 year-old is not one to provide lots of defensive cover in midfield, but he has scored 15 Premier League goals from midfield since his move to Swansea in 2012.

Everton fans haven’t changed their opinion though, as they beg the club to pursue quality over quantity this summer.
