Homegrown talent is very important to football fans, and it is sometimes a rarity to see stars come through the system and make a name for themselves at their boyhood clubs.

Tom Davies has been at Everton since 2009 when he joined the club's academy from Tranmere Rovers.

The midfielder, rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, made his first-team debut in 2015 and since then has had spells in and out of the team.

This season under new manager Marco Silva, the 20-year-old has started three Premier League games and come off the bench in one.

The youngster was also in the first XI that earned a 3-1 victory over Rotherham United in the EFL Cup.

From some quarters, Davies has faced criticism, but during a discussion on Reddit, plenty of Everton supporters believe that he could become a crucial part of the team.
