Another defeat for Everton has produced another set of fresh questions regarding Marco Silva’s future at the club.
The Portuguese manager has seemingly been teetering on the brink of the sack for the majority of the season so far, and a last-gasp strike from Kelechi Iheanacho has only served to consolidate that prevalent feeling.
His departure this week feels just as inevitable as a Liverpool victory in the upcoming Merseyside derby, prompting plenty of reports within the British media regarding his successor.
One of the names entering the debate is Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe, who has emerged as the club’s number one choice to replace Silva at the helm, as per Daily Mirror.
In response to the report, a handful of the Toffees faithful questioned the ambition of the club and suggested this would be another sideways move.
That’s the Eddie Howe whose team has won the same number of games as Everton and one in th3 last nine yeah? Wow, the clubs ambition has hit new heights if this ones true.

Why are we accepting mediocrity?

Shows the kind of ambition that the people who run our club have. The kind of ambition that will keep us mid table in the premier league and nothing https://t.co/HiNvfWiDt0 love affair with Everton Football Club is slowly coming to an end.Absolute mediocrity 😕

While Howe has certainly illustrated his credentials through years of over-achievement at Bournemouth, it’s easy to understand the club’s frustration with the link.
Years of aggressive spending in the transfer market, which has seen Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson arrive in £40m+ deals, are characteristic of a side aiming for a place in the top-four, but Howe has no experience in leading a club with ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League.
Understandably, the negativity manifested amongst plenty more fans on social media.
yeah nice one
another shot in the dark, hope for the best.

Disgraceful appointment no different to the previous 4

If we offer big money to Howe it just shows that Moshiri has learnt nothing.
Can’t just keep throwing money at mid table managers thinking they will better us

I wonder if Mr Kenwright and Mr Moshiri played spin the bottle before deciding that Mr Howe would be a number 1 target 🎯.
For me he’s just Roberto that speaks English.
