Just when you think the season couldn’t get any more bizarre for Everton fans, latest reports are suggesting that owner Farhad Moshiri is in discussions with Sam Allardyce’s representatives, regarding the former England boss taking over at Goodison Park.
It now seems that Ronald Koeman’s replacement at Everton will be one of two men, Allardyce or Sean Dyche. While the former is thought to be keen on a return to management, the latter will only be available if the Toffees agree a compensation fee with Burnley.
Should Allardyce become the new Everton boss, it would be his seventh time at the helm of a Premier League club. Despite his immense experience managing in England’s top flight it seems that the former England coach would be an unpopular decision amongst fans of the Merseyside club.
In fact, upon hearing the news, a number of Blues fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment at their potential new manager…
don't want allardyce anywhere near Everton.

Can someone please make these Allardyce rumours stop so I can sleep at night? #efc

I'd be fuming with Everton as a whole if we appoint Allardyce. It goes against every fighting talk Moshiri has said before.

I don’t want a Dyche or Allardyce type in any way shape or form. Massive backwards step. Unacceptable imo.

Couple of years ago we was on par with Spurs… now they're being Madrid 3-0 and we want Sam Allardyce as our manager
