Everton upset the odds by restricting Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Merseyside outfit put a slight dent in the Blues’ Premier League title hopes, but one of the major talking points related to a moment involving Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Everton’s number 10 was on the receiving end of a two-footed tackle from Jorginho just before the half-hour mark.
The midfielder continued to play on before eventually being substituted 30 minutes into the second half.
After the match, The Sun published a photograph of Sigurdsson leaving Stamford Bridge wearing a protective boot on his right foot.
The extent of the damage is unknown, but plenty of Everton fans were left reeling by the referee’s decision not to send off Jorginho, who was issued with a booking instead.
THAT from Jorginho is a RED. Unbelievable #efc

That Jorginho tackle gets worse every single I see it.

How Jorginho wasn’t sent off i’ll never know. Not only is the shirt pull a yellow he then takes both feet off the ground, goes two footed, one in front and one behind and gets nowhere near the ball. It’s just cynical. #EFC

Everton sit ninth in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of the top four and have won three of their last four top-flight matches.
