Everton fans have taken to Twitter to once again express their frustration at Marco Silva ahead of the visit of West Ham United on Saturday, following his attempted rallying cry.
? | “We have to be really strong. In tough moments, you can see the strong character and personality.” #EVEWHU
A big performance needed on Saturday. Let’s get Goodison bouncing! ?

It seems that fans have not let Silva off the hook over the international break, and with his comments of late, the supporters have done anything but get behind his recent rally cry.
Silva told Everton’s website: “When you have tough moments as a football team – and this is a tough moment for us as a club and our fans – we have to do even more and then we will see [results] on the matchday.
“As a team we have to show more, that strong character and personality that will have us playing to our best level again – and achieving what we want in every single match.
“In the tough moments, you can see the strong character… the strong personality. And how we can be strong as a team.”

The former Watford boss has had a dismal start to this season, as the club sit inside the relegation zone on just seven points from eight games. Across the pitch, it has been a nightmare scenario for the Portuguese, conceding 13 goals in the league and scoring just six of their own.
On top of this, Silva has failed to register a single point since the club defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers almost seven weeks ago, losing to Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Manchester City and Burnley in that time.
The manager has come under much scrutiny throughout this campaign in areas such as poor tactical decisions and lack of change in the squad, and letting players like Jonjoe Kenny, who has gone onto have a fabulous season elsewhere, leave.
Here’s what the fans have had to say this time…
We’d be much stronger without you Marco! #silvaout

Roll on getting smashed 3-1 at home to them again then? SOME ENTHUSIASM WOULD BE AMAZING, MARCO. Same interview, different game..it’s just not good enough, and how others at the club can’t see that is ridiculous. I hope we do win obviously, but unfortunately I’m not optimistic!

Start all our goal kicks like Martinez did every single time to our centre backs so we play keep all 12 yards away from our goal. rigidly sticking to 1 awful plan does not make us any stronger.

Show it in the pitch not saying just the words at the press conference ! I know you rely on the players but you have to get a tune out of them and learn by mistakes or change the play ?

No no, YOU can see the strong character and personality. We see a gang of players bored and bereft of ideas because you keep sending em out to not lose and then lose anyway.

Where is the strong character in this team? To many bottlers in the team with no backbone or fight.
They say the right things though ???
— Gary Montgomery (@gary2monty) October 17, 2019
Goodison is always bouncing, no matter what situation the club is in.
It’s just clowns like Marco who ruin the mood after the game ?
— Aero Kieran (@KingKierxn) October 17, 2019
We know what they have to be, whether your the right fella to instill that in the players is looking unlikely

In tough moments “You can see the strong character and personality” they fold like a piece of paper ?

Enough of the having to be ‘strong’ & ‘brave’ soundbites. Actions speak louder than words.

Please leave. #SilvaOut

Madness… doing the same thing over and over … expecting a different result !
— Paul (@goodysonx74) October 17, 2019
Hard to get anything Bouncing when you see the depressing boring predictable team news a hour before
— Matt Vicary (@Vicaz22) October 17, 2019
What character and personality? We’ve never come from behind to win under Silva’s leadership. We’re great when the pressure is off like back end of last season, but Millwall in the cup? Anfield? Away games v top 6? Start of this season? Gutless

I hate his words
— Local Stuntman (@SCOA22) October 17, 2019
Do your talking on the pitch for once please. Enough of these boring and worthless ‘rallying calls’.
