Loads of Everton fans have been running the rule over their defeat at Manchester City on Saturday, and they’re not too happy with the performance of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson has been phenomenal this season, as the Icelandic international has finally had the freedom to roam about in the number ten position, something he didn’t have under Sam Allardyce.

Marco Silva’s tactical tweaks at the Etihad exposed the playmaker’s weaknesses though, as Sigurdsson was deployed in a midfield two alongside Andre Gomes.

Former Wigan & Fulham man, Jimmy Bullard recently showed that he's still got it! Check out the video below...

Silva opted for a back five, which demands an incredible amount of work from the two central midfielders, something Sigurdsson simply isn’t cut out for.

The 29 year-old touched the ball just 29 times in his 80 minutes on the pitch, managing just one successful dribble, no shots and no key passes.

The Toffees had a few crucial chances in the second half that could have got them back into the game, but lack of solidity in midfield is what really cost them throughout the match.

You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where fans are fuming at both Sigurdsson’s performance and the decision to play him deeper…
