Earlier this summer, The London Evening Standard claimed that Everton were the favourites to sign Danny Welbeck on a free transfer.
Welbeck is available on a free ahead of the 2019-20 campaign having left Arsenal following the expiration of his contract.
The England international missed the latter stages of last season following ankle surgery, but has since returned to training.
As it stands, the former Manchester United youngster has not committed to a club for the new season.
Whilst there are some supporters who would want to sign Welbeck on a free, others are simply not interested in a swoop for the 28-year-old, who scored five times for Arsenal last term before picking up a season-ending injury.

If we replaced Niasse and Tosun with Kean and Welbeck I’d be happy with that!!

Adds depth no transfer fee and a contract that pays depending on appearances yeah why not

On a free not the end of the world. Main signing then no.

If Tosun & Niasse left and we got him and Kean, I’d be all for having Kean, Welbeck and DCL as our choices, it’s a massive upgrade…

If it’s as a back up and if we hand him a reasonable contract. Perhaps a low salary with goal and game bonuses.

If Arsenal don’t want him, why should we?

I can bare with signing Delph but Welbeck but too far. He’s no better than DCL.
