Everton fans discuss Nathan Ake interest

According to Sky Sports News reporter Vinny O’Connor, Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake is of interest to Everton.

The Toffees are allegedly keen to bring a new centre-back to the club during the January transfer window, and Ake has emerged as a potential target.

O’Connor claims that Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all ahead of the Merseyside outfit in the queue, but his Sky Sports colleague Kaveh Solhekol has declared (22:39, 14/01) that the Blues are unlikely to try and re-sign the defender.

The Liverpool Echo has followed up by alleging that could be the ‘green light’ Everton need to firm up their interest in the Dutchman.

And that rumour has been widely discussed by a number of Everton fans on social media, and it would be fair to say that many would be in favour of the Netherlands international making the switch to Goodison Park before the end of the month.

Not all of the Everton fans agree with the above stance, though.

The 24-year-old has made 17 appearances for Bournemouth during the 2019/20 campaign but has only featured in one of their last six league matches due to a hamstring problem.

Ake actually has a contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2022.

Eddie Howe’s side are in danger of being relegated this season, though, as they sit in 19th spot in the Premier League table ahead of Saturday’s huge clash with basement side Norwich City.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether Ake leaves the Cherries before the end of the month, but there are some mixed opinions from the fans on a possible switch to Everton.

Meanwhile, a number of Everton supporters are very excited by the potential of one of their youngsters, who has been in superb form this season.
