There is no getting away from the fact that Everton are currently in a very tough spot.
Head coach Marco Silva was backed in last summer’s transfer window, with Richarlison amongst those to arrive in a big-money deal.
The Toffees have had some decent results this season, but have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions.
There is simply no downplaying the importance of the clash with Cardiff City in the Premier League next week.
Indeed, a poor result in that match would crank up the pressure on Silva, who has faced a lot of criticism in recent weeks.
The Everton fans are a fairly unforgiving bunch and it would certainly be fair to say that not too many are behind the Portuguese at the moment.
Indeed, in a discussion on Twitter, the vast majority of the Merseyside club’s supporters claimed that they do not believe that their manager will be able to turn the current situation around.
A selection of the Twitter reaction can be seen below:
🤔 What do you reckon? Can Marco Silva turn Everton's form around? pic.twitter.com/5lY9iHDD2D

I don’t think he has the personality for it. Does seem to inspire people with his droany non emotional way. Hope he does but can’t see it

There is little evidence that he can. There is little choice but to see if he can. Uncomfortable.

No. He doesnt have it in him.

No. His track record isn’t exactly stellar. Took Hull down and did nothing at Watford. I was genuinely surprised when he got the job. Speaks volumes for the vision and ambition of the board. Jury’s out for me. but how much longer can this run of terrible form go on?

From what I’ve seen so far it’s a definite NO!

No, I’m sorry but his record suggests he can’t
