Everton fans hit back at Keane’s comments ahead of Leicester trip

There is one thing that is guaranteed after a defeat – players will issue a rallying cry ahead of the next game.

Everton fans are experiencing this currently following their midweek defeat to Southampton.

Marco Silva’s side were knocked out of the EFL Cup in the fourth round after losing a penalty shootout at Goodison Park.

Theo Walcott sent the match to penalties after cancelling out Danny Ings’s opener in normal time, but the former Arsenal star contributed to Everton’s downfall.

The 29-year-old missed from the spot, as did his teammate Richarlison, which handed the victory to Southampton.

In five games in all competitions, Silva’s side have picked up just one win, which has become a concern for supporters.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to face Leicester City, defender Michael Keane is finding some confidence by drawing on the team’s recent 3-0 win over Fulham.

Unfortunately for the centre-back, who was signed by former manager Ronald Koeman last year, the fans are not buying into his spiel.
