Everton fans are getting excited over the latest transfer links, as they were named as one of several clubs eyeing a move for Mario Gotze.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Arsenal, West Ham and Everton are all interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Gotze.

The crafty playmaker, who scored the winning goal at the 2014 World Cup, is looking to get his career back on track after several seasons were disrupted by metabolic problems.

The 26 year-old was one of the hottest prospects in football when he broke through at Dortmund, but the move to Bayern Munich combined with his injury issues derailed his career.

Gotze has two years left on his current contract, and Dortmund will hope to recoup most of the £22m they paid to bring him back from Munich last summer.

In 23 Bundesliga appearances last season, the German managed just two goals and three assists, but there’s absolutely no doubting his quality, and he is still valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt.

Gotze is incredibly gifted with the ball at his feet, and his eye for a pass would be a helpful addition for any team in the Premier League.

Valencia and Marseille have also thrown their hat in the ring to sign the German, but Everton fans are hoping they can win the race.
