Ellis Simms' record for Everton's Under-23 side in the Premier League 2 this season must be respected.

Indeed, the 19-year-old has found the back of the net on seven occasions in 11 appearances, including four goals in his last three outings.

Simms netted a brace against Arsenal's Under-23 side on Monday night, which led to a number of Everton fans taking to social media to praise him.

Others, meanwhile, have claimed that the teenager must be nearing a first-team appearance for the Toffees due to his record in front of goal.

One fan even claimed that Simms is world-class; that might be a touch premature when considering that he has not yet made a first-team appearance.

Did he play for Everton? Simple question but a lot tougher than you think...

However, as well as an impressive record at Under-21 level, he has also scored 41 times in 44 appearances for Everton's Under-18s, which is quite stunning.

There are currently no indications that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is considering Simms for a first-team appearance, although the Italian will surely find it difficult to ignore the teenager if he continues to find the back of the net for the 23s.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside giants are reportedly interested in signing this Champions League star during the current transfer window.
