Everton fans are ecstatic about the latest reports on Sam Allardyce, as the Daily Mail claims the manager’s job is in the balance.

Everton fans were angered this week by a report in the Liverpool Echo that suggested Allardyce could fulfil his contract at Goodison, which runs until the summer of 2019.

The 63 year-old didn’t take training on Thursday though, and instead travelled to London for crunch talks with owner Farhad Moshiri.

After being enraged by the survey that asked fans to rate his performance, the Mail report claims Allardyce asked for public backing from Moshiri, which was refused.

There is no clear indicator yet that he will definitely leave, but the owner’s refusal to back the boss publicly is certainly good news for those Toffees that want the former England manager gone.

Allardyce has stabilised Everton in mid-table, but has angered fans with his negative tactics and smug remarks about the club and himself.

Marco Silva and Paulo Fonseca are two names being mentioned as possible replacements, with PSV sporting director Marcel Brands also expected to replace Steve Walsh as Moshiri looks to transform the club.
