Everton fans are absolutely loving the latest transfer link, as reports in Argentina think the Toffees are swooping to sign Boca Juniors defensive midfielder Wilmar Barrios.
If you’re unfamiliar with Barrios, he is the Colombian player who head-butted Jordan Henderson, and let’s just say he’s already a fan favourite at Goodison.
Tottenham are on the hunt for a replacement for Mousa Dembele, and Barrios has been heavily linked with a move to North London for quite some time.
It now appears as though that call came from Everton though, who could wrap up a deal that will see the tough tackling 24 year-old join in January 2019.
According to the report, the Colombian international has a €18m (about £16m) release clause, but the Toffees could get him for less if they agree to let Boca Juniors keep him until the winter window.
Fans are already on board with the signing, due mainly to his actions against England, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
It’s as good a reason as any.

These are the type os signing Brands will make, young with a sell on value. Liverpool and FSG are perfecting it, it’s a great long term strategy for anyone below the European mega money teams.
