Everton picked up a crucial win in the English Premier League on Saturday, beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Goodison Park.

After being thrashed by Arsenal last week, it was vitally important Sam Allardyce's side responded with a victory this afternoon and they did exactly that, delighting supporters in the process.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Oumar Niasse and Tom Davies were the goal heroes on the afternoon, blitzing the Eagles with second half goals that put the game beyond doubt by the time Roy Hodgson's side could muster a response through a late penalty.

It was a big day for Davies, rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, who has been criticised for less than stellar performances this season, a drop below the levels he showed at points last term.

However at 19 years old, he's a player still learning the game and today's goal will be a huge confidence booster for him.

Fans recognise that while he isn't the most polished player right now, he plays with passion and conviction, which is something that will always go down well in the stands.

They took to Twitter to pay tribute to his performance on Saturday...
