Sixteen years ago today, David Moyes took charge of his first game as Everton manager, and Everton fans have been ironically celebrating the anniversary on Twitter.
Say what you want about David Moyes as a manager, but the Scotsman certainly had a connection with the Everton fans. Still, football fans don’t forgive quickly, and Moyes’ disaster decision to leave the club for Manchester United is being laughed at by Everton fans.
The 54-year-old took charge of over 500 games in his 11 years at Goodison Park, but left for Old Trafford in 2013. Since then, the Scotsman has been fired by Manchester United, fired by Real Sociedad, fired by Sunderland and is now under the gun at West Ham, all before his original contract at Old Trafford has even run out.
Blues fans are not enjoying life with Sam Allardyce as manager, but that hasn’t stopped them from mercilessly mocking Moyes on Twitter today after one fan claimed they would have won the league if Moyes had been at the club with Farhad Moshiri’s backing.
We’d have won the league by now if he stayed

Rubbish. He could never break the glass ceiling or beat the top 4

Lol. This is the same manager who inherited the Champions and couldn’t even get them in the top 4.
