Gylfi Sigurdsson was one of Everton's major signings last summer, but the midfielder is yet to impress everyone.

The Merseyside outfit fought tooth and nail to secure his signature from Swansea City.

Sigurdsson was part of the spending spree undertaken by former manager Ronald Koeman, but he has been unable to consistently perform well on the pitch.

Sam Allardyce was appointed as Koeman's replacement in November after the club dropped closer towards the relegation zone.

Under the new boss, Sigurdsson is still yet to thrive, but his teammate Ashley Williams thinks that the Iceland international is crucial for the team.

In an interview with the club's official website, the defender claimed that the midfielder is capable of producing "extremely important" goals.

So far this season, Sigurdsson has scored five goals and created five assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

Everton fans have been giving their thoughts on Williams's remarks, and some are not convinced, particularly after he failed to strike against Watford.

Others just took the opportunity to bash Allardyce.
