Everton fans praise Keane’s progress following recent displays

Michael Keane was part of the spending splurge headed by then-Everton manager Ronald Koeman in the summer of 2017.

The defender was thrown into the backline but he struggled for consistency and both last season and then into this season faced strong criticism from his own fans on Twitter.

With Marco Silva now at the helm, the Toffees have a number of options in defence.

Phil Jagielka, Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma and Keane are all on the club’s books.

Some are on the sidelines with injuries, but since recovering from a blow to the head, Keane has started the club’s last two Premier League fixtures.

Despite conceding two goals to Arsenal, the England international was a solid figure at the back and he continued in that vein on Saturday when the Toffees defeated Fulham 3-0 at Goodison Park.

In a quote highlighted by Everton’s Twitter page, Keane expressed confidence in his current form and it seems that plenty of supporters agree with him.
