According to reports in the Daily Mail, Eliaquim Mangala's Everton career could already be over with fears he suffered knee ligament damage in the 3-1 win against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park last weekend, and Toffees fans have been quick to have their say on the story.

The 27-year-old was only making his second appearance for the Merseyside outfit after joining them on loan until the end of the season from Manchester City during the January transfer window, but he was substituted just before half-time against the Eagles after landing awkwardly.

The Daily Mail says there is no indication whether he has suffered medial or cruciate ligament damage as of yet, although the latter would likely keep him out until the start of the 2018/19 campaign, at the very earliest.

Everton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the update, and while one said "send him back, we've got enough deadwood bleeding us dry", another simply said "the Everton curse continues!"
