Everton fans really don’t want William Carvalho, after odds on the Portuguese international joining the Toffees were slashed on Tuesday.
It feels like Everton and West Ham have been linked with William Carvalho at least once a week ever since his impressive showing at Euro 2016.
The towering defensive midfielder is expected to finally leave Sporting CP this summer, and could even leave for free, with a number of Sporting players expected to terminate their contracts after a gang of fans attacked the team.
The links with Everton have blown hot and cold plenty of times already this summer, but now the Toffees have been made the clear favourites to land the 26 year-old, with some bookmakers offering odds as low as 8/15 on a move to Goodison.
Carvalho is fantastic at breaking play up and using his intelligent passing to get his side moving forward, but fans have not been impressed by his showings at the World Cup.
The Euro 2016 star, valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, has looked slow and ponderous in Portugal’s midfield, and fans don’t think he has the pace or energy to succeed in a Premier League midfield.

Not for me….We need mobilty pace & power in the middle of the park..
From what I've seen in this WC he certainly lacks 2 out of 3 IMO…

Have any of our scouts actually watched Portugal in the world cup and seen him move with all the pace of a slug?
