Everton fans react as West Ham appoint David Moyes

West Ham United confirmed the appointment of former Everton boss David Moyes as their new manager on Tuesday morning, and Toffees fans were quick to have their say on the decision.

The 54-year-old joins the Irons until the end of the season following the sacking of Slaven Bilic on Monday, and he will be tasked with taking out and away from the relegation zone with the Hammers lying in 18th position in the standings following the 4-1 defeat against Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Scot spent a successful 11-year spell with the Merseyside outfit before joining Manchester United in 2013, but his time with the Red Devils, Real Sociedad and Sunderland since haven’t exactly been laced with success.

Everton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the appointment, and while one said he could “relax” now knowing that Moyes couldn’t be Ronald Koeman’s successor, another feels the club has “dodged a bullet”.
