Everton fans react negatively to Van Gaal speculation

Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is the latest name being linked with the managerial position at Everton football club.

David Unsworth is still in charge of first-team matters at Goodison Park, but it is thought that the Under-23s boss stands little chance of being named head coach on a permanent basis.

Watford’s Marco Silva is the favourite to arrive, but Van Gaal is the latest name in the picture.

The 66-year-old has led the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich during a glittering managerial career, whilst he steered Man United to the FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal won 54 of his 103 matches in charge of the Red Devils, before Jose Mourinho was named as his replacement.

Everton could certainly do a lot worse than appointing a manager who has vast experience of the European game, but it appears that the club’s supporters are completely against the idea of the Dutchman pitching up on Merseyside.
