Loads of Everton fans on Twitter have said exactly the same thing after the club’s update on Andre Gomes’ injury – there is no update.
— Everton (@Everton) August 12, 2019
The Spaniard suffered an ankle problem towards the end of the first half of the goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, and had to be replaced by Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
A prolonged absence for the former Barcelona man would certainly be a big blow given manager Marco Silva even came out post-match and said that him coming off changed the game.
The club’s latest ‘update’ on the 26-year-old was basic to say the least though, saying that he had undergone a scan and would be monitored by medical staff at USM Finch Farm.
It’s fair to say that Everton supporters weren’t impressed as they took to the popular social media platform to respond, with one labelling it as the “worst update ever”, and another calling it “pointless”.

They’ve probably got a point seeing as he is a key player and the diagnosis of his injury will be much-anticipated, and they will hope the next update gives them a little more information.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
INJURY UPDATE: we have no update.

Worst update ever, gives us no information about how long he’ll be out for?
— Warren Evans (@Warren_Evans) August 12, 2019
That is literally the most pointless injury update I’ve ever seen as there is no update about his injury.
