According to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dadgblad, Everton are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon forward Bas Dost in this summer's transfer window.

Dost, who has also been linked with Newcastle United and Sevilla, joined Sporting from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a brilliant 2017-18 campaign at his Portuguese club - scoring 34 times in 49 appearances in all competitions.

Two of those goals came in six Champions League group-stage appearances, and his record of 70 goals in 90 appearances for Sporting since his arrival is quite staggering.

Dost also netted 48 times in his 117 appearances for Wolfsburg, and it is not much of a surprise that Everton are currently being linked with the centre-forward.

The Everton fans have been reacting to the transfer speculation on social media.

There are plenty that would like to see Dost, who is valued at £17.1m by transfermarkt.co.uk, arrive at Goodison Park this summer, but there are also those that would rather their club looked elsewhere.
