Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin posted on his official Twitter account after he impressed before being taken off because of injury in the 1-0 win against Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Monday night, and Toffees fans were quick to respond.

The Frenchman was one of the Merseyside outfit's key players in the second-half of the 2016/17 campaign following his move from Manchester United, but the 28-year-old, who earns £120,000-a-week according to the Daily Mail, has largely struggled to replicate those displays this term and was heavily criticised by his own fans on Twitter last week following comments he made about his future.

However, the former Red Devil has improved in recent weeks and looked to be on the way to getting back to his best against the Magpies, before he was replaced in the 51st minute by Tom Davies having picked up a dead leg.

Everton supporters took to social media to reply to Schneiderlin, and while one said "hope you stay", another asked "where have you been all season?"
