Oxford United manager Karl Robinson has revealed that his club are in talks with Everton over a move for Luke Garbutt, who spent last season on loan with the U’s.
The defender is not exactly a spring chicken at the age of 26, though, and it is somewhat of a surprise that he still belongs to the Merseyside outfit.
The left-back, who has a contract at Goodison Park until next summer, made 25 League One appearances for Oxford during the 2018-19 campaign.
Robinson has revealed that he is keen to re-sign Garbutt this summer.

However, it remains unclear whether that will be on another loan or a permanent deal.
The Everton fans have been on social media offering their views on the latest update and a selection of their reaction is available to view below:
Another loan by the sounds of things. Just let him go, even if it’s for free, get him off of the wage bill. Meant to be on good money is Garbutt

It’ll be a loan with them paying about 10% of his wages, so nothing to get excitedly about.
