Everton are reportedly eyeing a move for Danny Welbeck, who could be available on a free signing next summer.
According to The Mirror, Everton are “keeping tabs” on Welbeck’s contract situation, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
The Gunners recently failed to come to an agreement with Aaron Ramsey over a new contract, so it looks like Unai Emery has got his heart set on revamping the squad next summer.
Everton will look to capitalise on this, although clubs outside of the UK can jump the gun and start negotiating with the English international from January.
Welbeck, who has scored 16 times in 42 England caps, has racked up over 100 games for both of Manchester United and Arsenal, but has never really cemented his place as a central striker.
His work rate and versatility would be very useful for Marco Silva, but fans are not convinced about signing a striker who is yet to have a truly top season at the age of 27.

Look at our strikers right now and tell me he's not an improvement. Proven premier league goalscorer, how could we turn that down?
